North Macedonia: Negotino-Gevgelija gas pipeline construction tender

A tender for the construction of 68 kilometers long Negotino-Gevgelija natural gas pipeline will be launched by the end of the year, said North Macedonian Minister of Transport and Communication Blagoj Bocvarski.

Minister Bocvarski said that the Government expects to receive building permit for the pipeline in mid-2021, adding that the gas pipeline will be completed in 2022.

Negotino-Gevgelija gas pipeline will run from the border with Greece to Negotino, where it will connect to the Stip-Negotino pipeline. This interconnection will allow North Macedonia to connect to the Trans-Adriatic (TAP) pipeline through Greece. North Macedonia is also interested in the participation in the project for the construction of LNG terminal in Alexandroupoli in northern Greece, as well as in the construction of 800 MW gas-fired power plant in the vicinity of the future terminal.
