Bosnia and Herzegovina: RERS certified Gas-Promet as gas transmission system operator

After the requirements set by the Energy Community were met, the Energy Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Srpska (RERS) certified the company Gas-Promet, headquartered in Pale, as the operator of the gas transmission system in the RS.

As requested, Gas-Promet is certified only for the sections Sepak-Karakaj and Karakaj-Zvornik. Also, the representative of Serbian Srbijagas, which holds 39.14 % stake in Gas-Promet, was removed from the management board due to the conflict of interest. According to RERS, Milan Djukic is also in management positions in the companies Srbijagas and Novi Sad Gas, which is contrary to several laws.

In its decision, RERS said that it requested from Gas-Promet to eliminate irregularities in management structure, but since the company failed to do it, the regulator was forced to enforce it.

The only gas input in Bosnia and Herzegovina is in Sepak near Zvornik on the border with Serbia. It is Russian natural gas, coming via Ukraine, Hungary and Serbia and then transported to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), which consumes almost all imported quantities.
