Romania: Increase in average day-ahead OPCOM price in November

In November 2020 on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM the average price of electricity amounted to 48.63 euros/MWh, which is 13.87 % higher compared to the same month in 2019 and 15.98 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 41.93 euros/MWh.

Traded volume in November reached 1.788 million MWh, which is 11.42 % less than in November 2019, and 9.87 % less than in October 2020. Average traded volume in November 2020 amounted to 2,483.3 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in November amounted to 90.24 million euros, which is by 5.45 % more compared to November last year (85.57 million euros) and 0.69 % more than in the previous month (89.62 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in November 2020 amounted to 36.66 %. A total of 44,536 MWh was traded on intraday market in November (27.67 % more than in November 2019, and 14.69 % less compared to October 2020), with an average price of 49.19 euros/MWh (+19.o8 %).

Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in November amounted to 1.184 million MWh, with an average price of 54.63 euros/MWh.
