The involvement of the operator in the projects undertaken by Romania through the National Investment and Economic Recovery Plan was discussed between Romanian Minister of European Funds Ioan Marcel Bolos and Bogdan Grecia, member of the Board of Directors of electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica.

Transelectrica proposed the inclusion in the Plan of some investment projects of national and European importance, including, among others, the construction of 400 kV transmission lines in the western part of the country, together with the refurbishment of some substations in Resita and Arad area, the construction of Gadalin-Suceava 400 kV transmission line of major importance for the northeastern part of the country, the digitalization of Alba Iulia substation, which would be Transelectrica’s first digital station and the modernization of Pelicanul substation, important for the operation of NPP Cernavoda.

These projects, which are part of the 400 kV ring project, cost some 350 million euros, and their completion will lead to increased safety in the operation of the national energy system and further development of the electricity transmission network.
