Romania: Increase of average day-ahead electricity price

Traded volume in June reached 1.995 million MWh, which is 23.07 % more than in June 2019, and 0.71 % more than in May 2020. The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 30.32 euros/MWh in June 2020, which is 22 % lower compared to the same month in 2019 and 21.96 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 24.86 euros/MWh. Average traded volume in June 2020 amounted to 2,771.3 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in June amounted to 61.69 million euros, which is by 7.22 % kower compared to June last year (66.49 million euros) and 23.37 % more than in the previous month (50 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in June 2020 amounted to 50.36 %. A total of 30,113.8 MWh was traded on intraday market in June (52.54 % more than in June 2019, and 24.04 % less compared to May 2020), with an average price of 32.6 euros/MWh. Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in June amounted to 1.218 million MWh, with an average price of 53.15 euros/MWh.
