North Macedonia: 496 GWh of electricity produced in February

Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in February 2019 amounted to 731,115 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 26.712 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 536,377 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 70,563 tons.

According to the data from State Statistical Office, 72.6 % of the consumed electricity in February was covered by domestic production, while 97.6 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production.

Total net production of electricity in North Macedonia in February 2019 stood at 496,201 MWh, which is 10.2 % lower compared to the same month last year (554,942 MWh). 316,728 MWh or 63.8 % was produced at thermal power plants (+49.3 % compared to February 2018), 100,616 MWh or 20.3 % was produced at hydropower plants (-47.4 %) and 13,937 MWh or 2.81 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
