Bulgaria: TPP Bobov Dol reports sharp profit drop despite higher revenues in 2025

Bulgarian thermal power plant Bobov Dol recorded a net profit of approximately 510,000 euros in the first nine months of 2025, a significant decrease compared to 2.3 million euros in the same period last year.

The company’s total revenues reached 144.5 million euros, marking a 31.5 percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2024. However, total expenditures also rose by 33.8 percent, reaching about 144 million euros, which offset the revenue gains and led to a sharp decline in net profit.

TPP Bobov Dol is a 630 MW coal-fired power plant located in southwestern Bulgaria. Commissioned in 2000, the plant was privatized in 2008 and is fully owned by the local consortium Energy MK.
