Bulgaria, Yettel signed 10-year solar PPA with Electrohold

Bulgarian telecommunications operator Yettel and telecoms infrastructure provider Cetin Bulgaria, both part of the Czech PPF Group, have signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Electrohold, a subsidiary of Eurohold Bulgaria.

According to the agreement, the two companies will cover the majority of their electricity consumption with electricity generated from a 123 MW solar power plant, which will be operated by Electrohold. The power plant in question should be commissioned this spring.

Electrohold power trading subsidiary Electrohold Trade will be in charge of the overall management of the purchase and implementation of the delivery.

The deal is one of few existing long-term PPA transactions in Bulgaria. Last year, telecommunications operator A1 Bulgaria, a unit of A1 Telekom Austria Group, signed a PPA with Renalfa to receive electricity from its 33 MW solar power plant.

Last year, Eurohold Bulgaria completed the acquisition on Bulgarian assets of Czech energy company CEZ.
